Discover the Parcoursup® platform and the 2020 calendar

What is the Parcoursup® platform, its timetable and steps to follow?

Online since December 2, 2019, the Parcoursup® platform is the new web application set up by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation to replace the old Post-Bac Admission System (APB). The Parcoursup® platform is, therefore, the new national platform for pre-registration in the first year of higher education.

Who is this platform for?

The Parcoursup® platform is intended for all high school students, apprentices, students seeking an orientation who wish to enrol in the first year of higher education: bachelor's degrees, BTS, IUT, engineering schools, etc. The Parcoursup® platform allows you to create a pre-registration file, find information on the different training courses, enter your wishes without classifying them ( as opposed to APB) and complete your file with the elements requested by the chosen courses, confirm your wishes, receive proposals for admission to the courses and respond to them. There are nearly 14,500 training courses registered and selected through the Parcoursup platform. Each high school student can make up to 10 wishes and 20 under wishes, without having to prioritise them.

Understand the 2020 calendar

The site will open its doors on December 20, 2019. From this day forward, it will, therefore, be possible to access the platform and familiarise yourself with the interface. It will also be time to bring together all the elements of the file.

The next key date is January 22, 2020. From this day forward, you will be able to create your folder. Registration and entry of vows end on March 12 at midnight. From this date, it will no longer be possible to create an account or enter a new registration form. However, even if no wishes can be added from March 12, it will still be possible to finalise the files with all the elements requested by the training sessions and to confirm your wishes until April 2, 2020.

Candidates will start receiving feedback on their admissions from May 19. This first admission phase will take place until 17 June, the date on which the baccalaureate exams begin. However, a complementary admission phase will begin on June 25.

After the results of the baccalaureate, and if an application has been definitively accepted, you can register with the chosen school. The end of the main admission phase is July 17. This is the last day to accept a proposal for admission.

The Hachette books and the CDs included allowed me to prepare for the TOEIC Listening and Reading test. My school requires a score of 785 to graduate.

How to put all the chances on your side?

The Parcoursup® platform opens the doors to many training courses. However, places are limited, and each application will be closely examined by the institutions. It is therefore essential to prepare your file properly and to include as many elements as possible to highlight your assets. Fluency in English is a key skill required by some courses. The enhancement of your English level can be a real plus for your file. Thus, displaying your level of English thanks to a score obtained at a certification of world reference and known in higher education can only be an asset. TOEIC tests are used in France by many engineering and business schools, universities, IUTs, specialised schools... To enhance your English skills and put all the chances on your side, indicate your TOEIC® score level in your file.

To do this, register to a TOEIC® test session in one of our 100 centres in France at the beginning of 2020.

Wondering if your level is high enough? Take the test through our official application available on IOS and Android. If you wish to go further in your preparation, our partner Hachette offers several books with official content.
