Our Mission Equity

Find out more about our Mission Equity

Equity is one of our core concerns. Strict procedures are in place every step of the way, from designing to administering tests, in order to ensure equity for test takers.

Our commitment to equity

Ensuring test fairness and impartiality means creating assessments that do not disadvantage any group of candidates based on individual characteristics, such as origin, ethnicity, gender, or physical or mental incapacity. This is the purpose of our Equity Mission.

As we organize tests in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, we provide accommodations to make them accessible to people with hearing or visual impairments, persons with reduced mobility and people with health problems.

What is our Mission Equity ?

The purpose of our Equity Mission is to ensure that the appropriate accommodations are provided for taking ETS tests, and of course the TOEIC test. Accommodations may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Extra time
  • Breaks
  • Audio tests
  • Text enlargement
  • Braille test
  • Omission of the listening comprehension section
  • As well as any other accommodation generally required by the candidate taking the test.

There are many possible accommodations, all of which require special organization (provision of a separate room, specific test material, an attendant, etc.) and require anticipation, so that the test takers concerned can take the TOEIC test in the best conditions possible.

Steps to follow if you need to apply for an accommodation

Registration must be completed at least 4 weeks before the test date to allow our teams and test centres to properly organize the required accommodations.

Step 1: Before registering, complete the accommodation request form and send it (with the required supporting documents) to Mission Equity.

Step 2: Mission Equité approves your request and sends you a letter of approval, valid for 1 year from the date of issue.

Step 3: Once you have received the letter of approval, you can proceed with your registration. You have two choices:

  • If you are taking the test at a Public Test Center, let us know where you would like to take the test and the dates you would like to take it, so that we can check the test center's availability. Once confirmed, you can register directly on our website.
  • If you are taking the test at your school/company, you will need to contact the school's administration department to confirm your registration.

On the day of the test, you must bring your letter of approval.

See our FAQ section for more information on accommodation requests.
