ETS makes a strong commitment to accelerate African students’ access to education

September 19th, 2022 ETS, the world’s largest non-profit educational assessment, measurement, research and learning organisation, announced a commitment to support African students’ access to global education opportunities.

In support of values deeply rooted in ETS’s mission, such as diversity, inclusion, and access to education, ETS is supporting the impactful Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). CGI gathers world leaders to address the world’s most pressing challenges and act together.

Under this initiative, ETS has pledged 3,000 test vouchers worth 220,000 USD to make fair and equitable assessments available to African students. Over the next three years, ETS’s flagship products – the TOEFL® and GRE® tests will be made available to accelerate African access to global innovation ecosystems. For decades, the TOEFL and GRE tests have provided opportunities for students to demonstrate their potential and readiness to pursue global education opportunities.

ETS' commitment will touch many lives directly and indirectly, in the African continent and beyond.

“I am delighted to share that over the next three years, ETS will be giving three thousand tests for free to under-served African students. Those 1500 GRE® and 1500 TOEFL® tests are our contribution to recognise the incredible opportunity to further the connectivity between Africa and the world,”

Amit Sevak, President and CEO of ETS.
