ETS Global launch the TOEIC® test with remote proctoring

A solution available today for academic institutions in France.

Following the announcement by the President of the French Republic that all higher education institutions will be closed to the public as of Monday, March 16, 2020, and until further notice, ETS Global teams have been working on the implementation of a solution that will allow students to take the TOEIC® test remotely.

We are therefore pleased to inform you that it is now possible for academic institutions to organise TOEIC® Listening and Reading test sessions online and remotely in a secure environment.

The TOEIC® Listening and Reading test online with remote proctoring

The TOEIC® Listening and Reading test with remote proctoring is now available for registration with no additional fees. It is exactly the same test that is usually organised by institutions of higher education on their premises in the paper-and-pencil version. It is, therefore, a two-hour multiple-choice test that assesses a candidate's listening and reading skills.

The score scale and correlation on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is the same as for the paper-and-pencil test. As for all TOEIC tests, the test scores are valid, reliable, and fair.

At the end of the test, candidates see their provisional score directly on the screen and their academic institutions receive their final results at least four calendar days after the test session.

The ProctorExam partnership

To be able to offer this service, ETS Global partnered with ProctorExam, a major provider in remote test monitoring. In addition to technical support for the candidate before and during the test session, the ProctorExam solution offers a proven prevention system allowing the equivalent administration rules to be applied as for paper-and-pencil test sessions, efficient detection of inappropriate behaviour, as well as full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Moreover, in October 2013, ProctorExam has been chosen by the Public Interest Grouping FUN MOOC – France Université Numérique, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
